SHRS launches referrals line

Published Categorized as Uncategorized

In our efforts to advocate for the health and safety of people who use drugs, we developed our Referrals Line. People who use drugs often face discrimination and stigmatization from medical and other service providers. We have compiled a directory of as many non-judgemental and harm reduction based service providers as we were able to find. We are constantly looking for more resources and would love to hear about it if you have had a particularly good (or negative) experience with a service provider.

You can text this number if you are looking for a connection to resources such as:

  • MAT programs (suboxone/methadone)
  • Culturally Specific Care
  • Medical care referrals for wounds or other injection-related injuries
  • HIV testing and treatment
  • Hep-C testing and treatment
  • Trans Health
  • Hep-A vaccination
  • COVID-19 testing and resources
  • Free Food Shelves/Meals
  • STI testing and resources
  • Rule 25
  • Syringe Exchanges in MN
  • Support Groups.

Someone from SHRS will respond to your message and work with you to find a resource/service that feels like a good fit. We can make a referral to the resource, answer questions, and help make appointments.

This line is checked Monday through Friday; please allow for a day or two for a response. This line is not a medical emergency helpline, nor can we diagnose/treat medical conditions. If you are having a medical emergency please call EMS (911) immediately.
